Basic Do’s and Don’ts in Vaastu

According to Wikipedia “The Sanskrit word Vastu means a dwelling or house with a corresponding plot of land. The vrddhi, vāstu, takes the meaning of the site or foundation of a house, site, ground, building or dwelling-place, habitation, homestead, house”.

There are five elements of nature i.e., Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Vastu is the science of directions or constructions of how to combine those five elements and balance them with man and material. Our body is also made of these five elements known as “Panchbhoota or Panchtatva”. Therefore, Vastu Shastra has direct correlation to Human life in general. There are lots of benefits of Vastu Shastra. Following these guidelines, one can be benefited while building a house, shop or any other structures. It is said that Vastu has the power to change man’s destiny for the betterment.

Importance of Vastu:

• It increases your potential to earn more
• It ensures good health
• It gives marital bliss
• It helps you to pursue higher studies and gain success
• It helps you rise in your career

The above points are to name a few among many benefits of Vastu. Vastu, if followed in a wrong way, may bring negative results. Therefore, it’s necessary to keep in mind the “Dos and Don’ts of Vastu” while setting up your new office, home or any other buildings.

Dos of Vastu:

Enhance east Facings of your house:

Indra, The king of Gods, rules east. Thereby, to keep him pleased, make sure to keep the rooms in the east direction clean and well-ventilated which will help you ensure prosperity.

Installing Nameplate:

Print this bold and clear so that it is easily legible. Also pin it on the wall or door at the chest level; pasted below that level, will give you a negative effect as suppression or decline in status.

Keeping Important Documents:

The north-east direction of your home/house is a conflict-free zone. You can use this place to keep all your documents, testimonials, certificates etc. Also, make sure to put a swastika on the place where you keep your documents which will ensure protection.

Don’ts of Vastu:

Avoid South-West side for your main door:

South-east belongs to Agni Dev, who will bring harsh infra rays of the Sun into the house and negative energies through your main door.

Do not place mirrors in South direction:

It brings conflict in the family and people can blame you for things that you have not done.

Indoor Plants:

Avoid keeping cactus or any thorny plants in your house. Avoid keeping useless things: Keep your home clutter-free as it will block positive energy to enter your house.
These are some brief pointers of Vastu Shastra. Vastu is a big subject involving five elements and eight directions. We will reveal the mystic Science of Vastu in the following Weeks and help you live an enlightened life. Stay tuned to Brahmatales.com.
