Tradition and meaning
In the name, 'Baglamukhi' means a fierce Mahavidya. Protection yantras are traditionally kept at the entrance, in the puja room or worn as lockets. Goddess Baglamukhi is one of the ten Mahavidyas, worshipped in Tantric tradition with yellow offerings. A yantra is a sacred geometric diagram, traditionally used as a focus for worship and meditation; the lines and shapes are meant to be looked at, revered and often paired with a specific mantra. Yantras are traditionally associated with a mantra and with a particular deity or graha. The meaning is devotional and symbolic, with no promise of any result. A commonly used mantra for this deity or graha is 'Om Hleem Baglamukhi Devyai Namah'; use the mantra your own tradition or guru teaches.
