Bhojpatra Shree Yantra

A traditional yantra for the puja room, desk or altar, presented by its familiar name so you can choose by tradition.

Material named in the listing: bhojpatra.

Tradition and meaning

In the name, 'Bhojpatra' means birch bark. The Shri Yantra (Shri Chakra) is a set of nine interlocking triangles around a lotus and bhupura, a geometry linked with Goddess Lakshmi/Tripura Sundari in Shakta tradition. A yantra is a sacred geometric diagram, traditionally used as a focus for worship and meditation; the lines and shapes are meant to be looked at, revered and often paired with a specific mantra. Yantras are traditionally associated with a mantra and with a particular deity or graha. Their significance is devotional and symbolic, and no result is promised. Bhojpatra (birch bark) is the traditional writing surface for yantras and mantras in old Indian practice. A commonly used mantra for this deity or graha is 'Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah'; use the mantra your own tradition or guru teaches.
