Tradition and meaning

In the name, 'Sampoorna' means complete; 'Lakshmi' means the goddess of prosperity; 'Ganesh' means the remover of obstacles. Yantras with this name are traditionally kept in shops, offices and cash rooms by people who follow Lakshmi or Kubera worship. Goddess Lakshmi is revered in Hindu tradition as the deity of prosperity, generosity and auspiciousness, worshipped especially on Diwali and Fridays. Lord Ganesha is invoked at the start of new work and rituals as the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta). A yantra is a sacred geometric diagram, traditionally used as a focus for worship and meditation; the lines and shapes are meant to be looked at, revered and often paired with a specific mantra. Yantras are traditionally associated with a mantra and with a particular deity or graha. Their significance is devotional and symbolic, and no result is promised. A commonly used mantra for this deity or graha is 'Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah'; use the mantra your own tradition or guru teaches.
