Tradition and meaning

In the name, 'Vastu' means the science of buildings and space; 'Dosh' means affliction or imbalance; 'Nivaran' means removal or relief. Vastu yantras are traditionally placed at the entrance or centre of a home or workplace by people who follow Vastu Shastra. Yantras are geometric diagrams used as focal points for worship and meditation in Hindu and Tantric traditions. A yantra is a sacred geometric diagram, traditionally used as a focus for worship and meditation; the lines and shapes are meant to be looked at, revered and often paired with a specific mantra. Yantras are traditionally associated with a mantra and with a particular deity or graha. They are devotional and symbolic objects, and no result is promised.

Placement and use

Traditionally a yantra is placed on a clean altar or in the puja room, often facing east or north-east, and handled with the same respect as a deity image. Use the mantra, day and method your tradition or guru teaches. Vastu items are commonly placed at the entrance, in the north-east or at the centre of the space, depending on the instruction you follow.

Care

Keep it clean and dry; wipe metal gently with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive polish. A clean cloth wrapper keeps it safe between uses.

Gifting

A yantra is a respectful gift for a housewarming, a new business, or someone who follows the deity or graha it represents.

The finish may look a little different from the photos, as tone varies from piece to piece. Dimensions and weight are not listed here; ask before ordering if size matters.
