Tradition and meaning
The Shri Yantra (Shri Chakra) is a set of nine interlocking triangles around a lotus and bhupura, a geometry linked with Goddess Lakshmi/Tripura Sundari in Shakta tradition. A yantra is a sacred geometric diagram, traditionally used as a focus for worship and meditation; the lines and shapes are meant to be looked at, revered and often paired with a specific mantra. Yantras are traditionally associated with a mantra and with a particular deity or graha. They are devotional and symbolic objects, and no result is promised. A commonly used mantra for this deity or graha is 'Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah'; use the mantra your own tradition or guru teaches.
